Kathleen Kelly is a North Carolina–based artist and designer whose work fuses handcrafted collage and digital imaging to create bold, high-impact Artscapes that burst with color, texture, and energy.

Her artistic journey began in childhood and expanded through a B.A. in Graphic Design, where she also developed a passion for photography. After graduation, she worked as the sole designer and assistant photographer at an upscale photography studio, refining her skills in visual storytelling and design.

Kathleen went on to earn her M.A. in Textiles from NC State University’s College of Textiles, where she combined technical expertise with creative exploration. Among her accomplishments was designing the Pack Plaid, the official NC State tartan. She later launched a career in knit product development, designing innovative fabrics and products for the global bedding industry, while also maintaining a versatile freelance design practice. In 2018, she debuted her work at Surtex, the international art and design licensing show in New York City.

Artscapes begin as tactile collages composed of photographs, mixed media, and found objects, which she then expands into large-scale digital compositions. These layered works immerse viewers in vibrant worlds of hue and pattern, captivating from a distance and revealing intricate detail upon closer inspection.
